Welcome!

You will be assigned to a Professional Advisor, who will provide academic guidance, help you select your courses, and assist you as you adjust to student life. Once you earn 59 credits (generally, end of your sophomore year), you will transition to a faculty advisor who will provide further guidance on specific career possibilities and postgraduate options.

Freshmen

0 to 29 credit hours

Sophomore

30 to 59 credit hours

Junior

60 to 89 credit hours

Senior

90 or more credit hours

General Education 2023

New transfer undergraduates entering Buffalo State University during the summer or fall 2023 and later must complete the General Education 2023 (GE 23) program. Each student must complete a minimum of 33 credit hours of courses approved as GE 23 courses.

How to Schedule Appointments

  • Login to the Bengal Success Portal (BSP) using your Buffalo State University username and password.
  • Click Home, then My Success Network to see advisors, instructors, and others connected to you.
  • Find your advisor’s name(s) and select to send an email (or make an appointment online, if that option is available).

Print and review a copy of your Degree Works audit report.

Review program requirements offered next semester. Prepare a schedule that you think fits.
